My balcony is full of bird droppings. If the apartment complex to take care of the birds on the roof?
It's my first apartment and I feel stupid contact maintenance if it is your responsibility, but it is a nest or something on my roof and my balcony is completely covered in bird droppings. Is it their responsibility to do something about it or just chalk it up to live with nature?
As a health hazard I hope that the management of apartment complexes would take care of this for you. Talk to your neighbors to see if they are having the same problems. Then, with several people go to the office of management and see if will do anything for you. If not they may be asked but will split the cost of "bird proof" your building, or if its bad enough that you and your neighbors can pay for yourself. But this can be costly. But expect to run into resistance in both directions. At the other end if the administration does not address the question always can bring to your local health department. Many birds enjoy being stroked and cuddled, and provide great companionship to their owners. Handling your bird on a regular basis is a good idea to ensure that they get comfortable with your presence, and get used to being in captivity.
