Is there a bird rescue in California that adopts to aviaries?
I currently own a large aviary and I wanted to take in some macaws (not necessarily all at once) but all the rescues I have seen will not adopt to an aviary! Well if there is none is there anyone out there looking to surrender their macaw(s)?
I have tried mickaboo if you go their policies they say “no aviaries”

what kind of trees are ideal to be grown in a cockatiel and budgie aviary?
i have a large aviary with breeding cockatiels and budgies and i would like to put in a couple of real trees or shrubs etc for the birds to use as well as the perches already in place.
any ideas gratefully received
Ideal to grow? None…those birds will have those trees ripped apart long before they get a chance to grow!
I went through the stage of trying to have a planted aviary, but budgies and tiels love their greenery too much to allow them to grow…they go straight for the new shoots.
I now have pieces of PVC pipe cable tied upright in my aviaries, and this allows me to put a fresh branch in weekly without it just sitting on the ground. I use eucalyptus as it is readily available to me.
Within a few days all the leaves are shredded and within the week the branches have been well gnawed on.
I also like the idea of new branches weekly as it changes thing up a bit and makes it more interesting for them.
