I mean do you have any disorders , like anxiety ,depression , hyperhydrosis, panic attacks etc etc and is still successful in this medical field?? OK, I am a 3rd year medical student. I have not had these problems but I know very well, several students who have. I have helped 2 of them to get the time out and treatment they need. Medicine is a long and stressful course, and the practice of medicine is also stressful.

Some academics believe that if you can’t stand the heat you should get out of the kitchen. I think any med school committee reviewing applications would question why someone took so few hours. If there was a legitimate reason (like a full time job, or raising kids simultaneously), then that would be taken into consideration.

Realistically, if you can’t get mostly A’s while taking 16-18 credits, how Can You expect to survive in a situation which is the equivalent of taking 30 credits per semester? Think of med school as college x 2. And all of your classmates breezed through college.

They accept only those people who they think are going to succeed. The weeding out is done at the acceptance. Once you’re in, they expect you to do well.
