What is the purpose of those stupid letters?
Every now and then, when I’m doing something Internet involved, I’m asked to type in a series of letters or stupid words in order to proceed on with what ever it is that I’m attempting to do. Why is this required, and why are the letters always squiggly and wavy as opposed to just simply written letters? Last question: Am I the only one who gets pissed-off when I type in what I think I seen, and the system says that it was inaccurate? LOL!
The reason is to stop automated spam from hitting their site.
People develop “bots” that hit these web sites. Computer programs have great difficulty in deciphering pictures, but no problem in reading text.
Web designers use the concept of putting words and letters in a picture form that an automated bot cannot read, thereby guaranteeing that it’s really a person at the other end.

An Overview of Fellowes Rotary Paper Trimmers

This cutter offers various cutting guides that allow the user to use many different paper sizes. It even has markings for use in creating angled cuts. The Atom also has an automatically-engaging paper clamp that holds the paper in place during cutting thus ensuring a nice straight cut.
