I want the one like Homer Simpson uses in the episode King-Size Homer. Homer uses it to avoid his work by leaving his terminal and with a drinking bird to press “yes” on the keyboard.

Is carrying a real closed sword illegal? Is carrying a toy wooden sword illegal?
I was planning my costume for Halloween, and I’m deciding if I could carry a real sword on my back, and of course.. it’s in the sheath. It’s about 4 feet total, the blade is around 3 feet.
Also I’m wondering the same thing about a wooden toy sword, but it’s not much of a sword to the point where you could hurt someone, just looks like it, without a sheath too.

The wooden sword is 3 feet, if that matters.
as far as i no most of the laws concerning blades are about knifes, i have never seen a law about carrying a sword. that being said the only way i would think of u getting in trouble would be if u were “concealing” it but on your back is pretty out in the open. to be on the safe side i would not take it out much.
In the strictest sense, no it is NOT illegal. However. . . before you start carrying a sword, here are some laws you might want to consider:
Penal Code section 12020 covers dangerous and illegal weapons. One of the listed weapons that are prohibited are what’s known as “dirks” and “daggers”. Those are any weapon, with or without a hand guard that is capable for immediate use as a stabbing weapon. Those are illegal if carried concealed. So – although it may be technically legal to carry a sword in plain view, do you want to be held at gunpoint by an officer for your next traffic infraction while the two of you debate the fine points of California law?
